Realist artist Peter Liashkov engages the viewer in a journey of discovery as he works on a single painting over a period of ten months. Using both sides of a resilient translucent piece of fiberglass paper called synskin, he takes an initial image drawn from a photo reference, enhances it with a live model and day by day uses an arsenal of tools: brushes, sandpaper, razor blades - and techniques: layering, pouring, sifting acrylic and oil pigments - to transform it into the finished work. The camera records every step of this creative process, as Liashkov intently explores what he calls the "insideness" of living flesh.
